The SpaceX Launch

Using the aroma of my favorite Pikes Peak coffee, Ray lured me out of bed at five a.m. on Friday to drive to Flagler Beach. The launch of the SpaceX rocket was scheduled to lift off at 5:49. He chatted like a sugared-up six-year-old the entire thirteen minutes it took to get there, while I silently sipped my coffee, praying he'd come down with laryngitis... but only until I got enough coffee in me to comprehend the conversation.

I used to be a MORNING PERSON, but between the Covid Quarantine chaos, Ray retiring and being home ALL THE TIME, plus the endless antics of my Flying Monkeys aka The Wonderpurr Gang, I'm now only a MORNING PERSON after two cups of coffee and one episode of Cybill or I Dream of Jeannie on the Roku channel.

Watching the NASA lift offs is part of our Bucket List while living in Florida. SpaceX was the second one we've enjoyed so far, with beautifully clear skies enabling us to see the entire launch. My video is a little over six minutes, but it's worth it.

  1. I have never been a morning person and any time before 8am doesn't exist. Talk to me before 2 cups of coffee at your peril. If you are lucky you won't get an answer, if I do answer it is best to go and hide somewhere.
It must be wonderful to see it live but I don't think that will ever happen for me.

  3. Mom has become even less of a morning person since Covid. She did get up to watch the launch though! It sure was a pretty launch.

  5. I'm glad you got to see it in spite of the ungodly hour. I'm not a morning person - never have been, never will be.

  6. I always wake my Mum very early and she definitely needs her coffee before she does anything else. She does feed me first though!

  7. How lucky you are to live so close to the launch. My hubby would be like a kid too.

  9. I used to be an early riser...like the early bird who catches the worm,, but my job at the nursing home has turned me into a night owl of night owls! And an addiction to coffee as well, to fuel my (late) mornings...which might be afternoon at times. YAWN...

That was a cool thing to see! Thanks for sharing it:)

  10. Hmm . . . it looks like my comment didn't go through when I paw penned it awhile back, so here's another go at it . . .

That's totally cool that you got to see that in purrson. Mom and I are fascinated with all the news that comes out about SpaceX. We watched its crew dragon capsule take off and then later land in water. I purrsonally think it should've been named after a pussycat. Tee hee hee.
