My Mew Year's Resolution

Hi evfurrybuddy, it's me Dori! *wavy paws*

Do yoo make rezzylooshuns? Us cats are not prone to planning ahead, especially committing to something that is supposed to last all year long. However, I am making a special rezzylooshun in the case of my brofur, Wabbit.

Yoo see, my welationship wif Wabbit has finally peaked, and we are taking a bweak.

I showed just how unhappy I am about being Wabbit's play toy the other night when I marched up to the couch and turned my tail to it. Momma saw me and gasped with disbelief! It was only a slight spray, but it made a huge impression. Momma consulted Dr Google and he said stwess was the main reason I spwayed.

Truthfully, I did feel sorry about acting out after Momma put the couch cover into the wash. Yes, we have couch covers because accidents happen, and around here with so many seniors, daily accidents of some kind are the norm. I'm always a Good Girl, but even us Good Girls have limits.

It's not that Wabbit is a bad cat. He's a Turkish Van, like my pwecious Hwermie. However Hwermie is not 100 purrcent Van, we think he has a lot of Angora in him too, which makes him sweet. Whereas Wabbit is 100 purrcent Van from exotic blue ribbon pawrents and grandpawrents. That's kinda like being royal without all the curtsying and worrying about being on the cover of the Bwitish tabloids.

Wabbit is highly intelligent and easily gets bored. Mom and Dad get that and they try to invent games and new stuff to stimulate him all the time. But I'm a petite girl at 7 pounds and when 15 pound Wabbit decides it would be stimulating to hunt me and jump on my back, that's not okay. I don't like it at all.

So with that said, no matter how much Wabbit sweet-meows me, I do not want to be his furend any more!

So, me and Wabbit are taking a bweak in our welationship before he hunts me down and bweaks my neck. Have yoo ever taken a bweak from someone in yoor life because yoo are tired of them putting the bitey on yoor neck? Life shouldn't be this complicated, especially among family, but sometimes it is.

Until Next Time...

  3. Oh Dori, Sweetie here. I have the same problem. Rondo and especially Etude do the same to Gentle Mouse and me. They are bullies. It's crazy. Right now the two bullies are napping nose to nose and tummy to tummy. Once they eat they nap... My time to enjoy being with Grammy. Mousie is safe in the bedroom with the door closed until she finishes eating. She's fragile and takes a long time to eat.
Love you Dori. Hope you don't spray again.

  4. Oh dear, I hope maybe your Mom and figure out how to destress you. Maybe you can get Wabbit booked for an episode of My Cat from Hell. Seriously, maybe get some grooming wipes and wipe you both down semi-regularly so you both smell the same??? All the bets sweet Dori.

    1. Yoo might have hit on the solution, Bwian. Momma and Daddy think Wabbit doesn't recognize me as he only furend because Momma started shutting me in the room called Senior Central. Now when he sees me, Wabbit thinks I'm a stwanger!

  5. Oh, Dori. I, Trixie, do feel for you! My brofurs do that to Me, too - and worse, sometimes they gang up on Me. And to think when they were little kittens and new here, I welcomed them and taught them all they knew! It's so ungrateful of them! So you must take any steps you feel are necessary to assert yourself and reclaim your Rightful Sovereignty. Wishing you all the best - and a Happy Mew Year.

    1. Deer Trixie, I too welcome Wabbit when he first arrived as a kitten. My fur sibs didn't much like him, but I felt sorry for him and was his furend. But now he's mean to me. Yes, ungrateful. I hope yoo find a solution to yoor problem and if yoo do, please tell me. Love, Dori

  7. Minko used to be rather aggressive to Pipo at times...even though he was smaller!

Hope you can work things out for the better.

  8. We wrote a comment way back when we first read this, but we no longer have a clue what it said. Anyhoo, Astrid is a sprayer, and it drives our mom crazy. It is because of Misty May, who has been bullying her ever since Lily died and Misty May no longer had her to bully. Once 18-year-old Misty May goes to the RB, Mom is praying Astrid will cease this terrible habit. Stay safe, sweet girl. We worry about you.
